It is a misleading myth that biomass is 'carbon neutral'. Wood is not a low carbon fuel: burning timber emits similar levels of CO2 as coal, and more than gas. Add to that the carbon footprint of cutting down the trees, processing into wood chips and transporting from as far away as North or South America. IF trees are replanted like for like it takes many decades for them to regrow and resequester carbon.
